The New Tropics

Three best friends making tunes for the love of it.

With a style they refer to as "rom-com rock", the Nashville, TN three-piece blends late-90s/early-00s alt-pop hooks with a modern indie edge, drawing frequent comparisons to No Doubt & Letters to Cleo. Since reforming in 2023, the band has steadily sharpened their voice within Nashville's growing alternative scene.

Their latest EP, Pool Party, is the band’s refreshing take on 90s-leaning indie pop rock and bubblegrunge. The EP was produced by Brit Award winner Kevin Roentgen, mixed by Tyler Spratt & Shawn O’Keefe, and mastered by Sam Moses. The New Tropics have received steady airplay on Nashville's Lightning 100 & Austin's KVRX, a feature in Rolling Stone UK, as well as the sharing of stages with national touring acts along the way.

"The band's strength lies in how they pair personal storytelling with broader emotional resonance. Their music does not rely on spectacle or trends. It draws listeners in through sincerity, melody, and restraint." - Lauren Carpenter, Rolling Stone UK

With a growing fanbase and a catalog built on sharp, nostalgic songwriting, The New Tropics are carving out their place in today's alternative rock landscape, equal parts retro charm and fresh momentum.

Pool Party EP – The New Tropics - The Fuzz

The New Tropics’ new EP, Pool Party, is a powerful record that remains straight-to-the-point while capturing the trio’s unique style and putting their creativity on full display. From the opening track, ironically titled “The End”, the band pulls no punches. Only a few seconds in, this song gives a clear idea of what the band’s newest project holds: watertight grooves laying the foundation for steady basslines and wistful guitar licks, topped with vocal hooks that are sure to resurface in your mind. “Life…

Though they now all call Nashville home, the trio brings together distinctly different backgrounds. Pombo and Wilson are originally from Upstate New York, while Fisler grew up in Maui. That blend of perspectives subtly informs their music, which balances introspection…
